Bluebottle Guesthouse is nestled on the slopes of the Muizenberg Mountain. The guesthouse offers a breath-taking panoramic view of False bay from Cape Hangklip on the one end of the bay to Cape Point on the other. All of our suites are light & spacious and have stunning sea, lake and mountain views. The suites have glass sliding doors or french doors which open out onto a wooden balcony. We have a spacious lounge to relax in; with plenty of books to read and DSTV for your enjoyment. There is a well stocked honesty bar, tea/coffee making facilities & marble-top guest kitchen if you need to store or cook anything. Lovely knotty pine floors run throughout the house, complimented by wonderful antique pieces that grace the hallways and living areas. A landscaped walkway up a stepped slope leads you to our door, a quiet retreat far above the hustle and bustle of life. Due to our unique position it may be difficult for disabled or older guests to access. Muizenberg is a half hour drive from the city centre and twenty minutes from the airport. We can organise transfers, car hire or tours for your convenience. There are wonderful tourist destinations in close proximity; such as the Cape Point Nature Reserve, the penguins at Boulders Beach, the famous Cape winelands, Constantia all being less than a half hour drive from the premises. We also have 3 golf courses within 5 minutes of the guesthouse. There are a large variety of good restaurants and pubs near to us, serving anything from fresh seafood platters to cape Malay curries & a shopping centre and convenience stores all within 5 minutes walk. The miles of white sands and safe blue waters of Muizenberg beach are a 5 minute walk from the guesthouse. There are several mountain walks and hikes that start just above the house. There is a train station less than 2 minutes from the guesthouse with trains leaving regularly toward Simon's Town along the water's edge and through the leafy suburbs to Cape Town.

Stonehurst at St. James

Situated on the warm Indian Ocean side of Cape Town, Stonehurst has been in Judy's family for 50 years. The house, built in 1928, has original sash windows with wooden shutters and beautiful Oregon pine floors. Stonehurst is beautifully decorated, with an eclectic mix of old and new. Judy and Peter have traveled extensively and this is evident from some of the interesting items from the Middle East. Stonehurst is nestled into the base of the mountain, a 1-minute walk from sea, with wonderful views and peace and tranquility away from the noise of traffic and trains. During the whale season, you can see and hear the whales from the house, often breaching in the late afternoon sunlight. Take a stroll down to the famous Rhodes Cottage Museum is typical of the historical importance of the St James area. A short walk in the other direction takes you past Danger Beach to Kalk Bay with its art galleries, unusual decorating and fashion shops, and a wide selection of excellent restaurants. Kalk Bay has the picture perfect harbour where you can watch the traditional fishing boats unloading their catch of the day. For those more energetic there are a number of walks up the mountain that start close the Stonehurst. Accomodation A large lounge, with couches in the windows for whale watching and quiet reading. There is a wood-burning stove, wood supplied, for the cool winter evenings. The rear of the lounge has a TV, with DStv and video/DVD player. There are DVD's and videos in the house, as well as an ample selection of books, board games and cards. A separate 8-seater dining room, with wonderful views over the sea, to enjoy with your croissants bought from the local bakery! The kitchen is well appointed, with dishwasher and all the usual mod-cons and has a couch for long chats while you cook risotto or bake muffins, using the cookery books in the kitchen. There is a large courtyard outside the kitchen, with a barbecue and a table that seats 10. There is a 2 man and a 1 man kayak, with paddles supplied, if you are brave (or foolish) enough to want to paddle in the ocean. Stonehurst can sleep 8 people comfortably. The bedrooms are over 2 levels with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs, and a large suite with dressing room and bathroom downstairs. Upstairs accommodation comprises of a large double bedroom and 2 bedrooms with twin beds and 2 bathrooms. Bedroom 1: The large main bedroom elegantly appointed with a 4-poster queen bed, bedecked with flowers and fairy-lights, and a stunning view of the entire False Bay. The fireplace is surrounded by hand-painted flower tiles, and the soft white curtains move gently in the breeze. Crisp white embroidered linen bedecks the bed. Bedroom 2 and 3: 2 single beds in each bedroom with crisp white linen and throws for afternoon siestas. Bedroom 4 - The master bedroom is situated downstairs: an exceptionally large en-suite bedroom, with a 4-poster queen bed, and decorated with luxurious finishes with a silk canopy over the bed, and a beautiful art-deco lounge suite make this room wonderfully romantic. Ostrich feathers add a touch of whimsy and this bedroom is perfect for a romantic weekend away. Wonderful sea-views. There is also a fireplace for those cool winter evenings. Belmont House Kalk bay

Situated in the very heart of picturesque Kalk Bay village is Belmont house which is a charming character filled home that's fully equipped with everything one might need to enjoy a wonderful self catering stay. No.3 Riverside Mews is nestled in a quiet street in the beautiful seaside Town of Fish Hoek in Cape Town, South Africa. Fish Hoek is located in False Bay on the world renowned Cape Peninsula. No.3 Riverside Mews is part of a secure cluster complex of only 11 houses situated in Banks road in Fish Hoek. Ideally located, the home is far enough away not to be disturbed by traffic noise yet close enough to be in easy walking distance to the beach and town centre. The complex borders the beautiful Silvermine Wetland conservation area with a well established array of pathways for the discerning nature lover. All other amenities are within short walking distance. A short 700m walk will get you to the beach while the centre of town is 800m away. Here you will find everything from gift shops to restaurants and grocery stores to surf shops. Fish Hoek boasts one of the safest and most beautiful beaches in South Africa. This 3 bed roomed home with it's two bathrooms, one en-suite, is well apportioned with good quality, modern furnishings. Furnishings includes; Plasma TV, DSTV, hi-fi, safe, washing machine, counter top stove, under counter oven, microwave oven, granite kitchen working top and all utensils needed to prepare those gourmet meals. A pay telephone is also available in the home. The main bedroom has a queen size bed with ample cupboard space and en suite bathroom. The other two rooms share a bathroom and each has two single beds which can be placed together to form a double bed. All bedrooms have there own built in cupboards. The home boasts a private garden with patio and braai facilities and lock up garage. A maximum of 6 people may be accommodated in the house however no pets are allowed and no smoking is allowed inside the house.

UPSTAIRS @ No. 42 is a real home from home with beautiful mountain views and conveniently appointed for a relaxing break. Drive into secure parking right at the entrance. Up the stairs you will find a lounge-dining-kitchen area - fully equipped with TV & DVD; Radio/Music Centre; Stove with oven; Fridge with freezer and a Microwave. The flat sleeps 6 (maximum 4 adults) in 2 bedrooms - one with double bed, the other with 2 double-bunk full-size single beds. Camp-cot and infant high chair also in unit. In the bathroom you will find a shower and bath, a basin and toilet. A washing machine, vacuum cleaner and 'baby-gate' complete this user-friendly set-up. No shortage of cutlery, crockery and glasses here - plenty to cater for additional dinner guests. There is a mass of cupboard space and linen for your comfort (even camping mattresses for that odd 'emergency' overnight guest). A four-block walk takes you to the best beach ever for excellent walking on white sands, safe swimming, or watch the Whales (between August and November) whilst enjoying a cup coffee or a light meal. Within 2 - 3 blocks you'll find the railway station, family restaurants, shops, a library, and sporting facilities - absolutely everything you need for a tranquil holiday. On the other hand, a drive round the scenic southern peninsula takes you to Simon's Town, Cape Point, Kommetjie and Hout Bay, not to mention the neighbouring Fishing Harbour of Kalk Bay, with its quaint curio shops and a choice of exotic food - from bistro to upmarket. Not too far and you're in the stunning City of Cape Town with its Waterfront. Get a bird's eye view from the cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain. Visit famous Vineyards all the way from Constantia to Stellenbosch and Paarl - any distance ranging from 20 km to a comfortable 100 km drive. The apartment is sited alongside Dolphin Park, overlooking Fish Hoek beach and enjoys magnificent views across the Cape's famous False Bay toward Stellenbosch and the Strand. Accommodation. Situated on the mountain side across the road from the water's edge, Lalapanzi offers magnificent panoramic views of the ocean incorporating False Bay and the Hottentot Holland Mountains. This self-catering apartment is suitable for four people. The main bedroom has a sliding door onto a small patio with table and chairs to watch the sunrise. It has a king size bed with luxury linen. There is a second bedroom with 2 single beds which can convert into a king size bed. It has an open plan kitchen into the lounge area. A sliding door off the lounge area opens onto an outside paved patio with table and chairs and an umbrella for outside entertainment and barbeques. There is a family bathroom with basin, toilet and shower only. Spectacular sea views can be seen from every room in the apartment. Lalapanzi is in close walking distance of the popular Fish Hoek beach, catwalk, the central shopping hub, restaurants as well as Glencairn beach. During the months of July-November (peaking September), the Southern Right whales come to Cape Town's coastline to give birth to their young, mate and breed. Lalapanzi is ideally situated to view these gentle giants playing in the bay and we have often seen them as close as 10 metres from the shoreline in front of the property. Whalesounds

Whalesounds offers two spacious, fully equipped, self catering, self service, en suite units with breath taking views of False Bay. Each unit sleeps two (King or twin beds). We do provide a sleeper couch for children. The apartments can inter-link for family stays. We provide complementary coffee and tea on arrival. Each unit has a bathroom (shower only, no bath), TV, fridge, microwave, a cooker, kettle, toaster, pans, crockery and cutlery, bedding and towels, arm chairs, dining table and chairs and free secure WiFi. There is a safe on the premises. There is also an outdoors table and chairs, a sun lounger and a small BBQ/Braai. During whale season (July-November) our guests can have their morning coffee in bed while watching the whales cavort in the water below the windows. One can clearly hear them blowing when they come closer to shore during the night. Before the whale season, schools of dolphin play up and down False Bay and are a joy to watch. The yachting regattas held in the bay, reminds one of a swarm of butterflies dancing on the water. We also have an outdoors area where our guests can enjoy a sundowner or just watch the day drift away and watch the moon rise across the bay! Whalesounds is the perfect venue to forget about the hustle and bustle. Fish Hoek beach is a stone's throw down the road and now boasts the only shark nets for safe bathing in Cape Town and has two restaurants on the beach for bathers' convenience. Shopping is also very convenient and close. For a bigger variety of shopping, the closest Malls are only 5km away. There are so many things to do and see around the Peninsula! Some of the most popular attractions are: Cape Point Nature Reserve, Ostrich farms, Boulders Beach with it's unique Jackass Penguin colony, Camel rides at Imhoff's Farm, World of Birds in Hout Bay, the awesome Chapman's Peak Drive, the challenging Simon's Town golf course (or Clovelly or West Lake), numerous restaurants with great food and views to cater for every taste, cosy, reasonable breakfast spots and coffee shops. The main Bathroom has a Bath and Shower and the other bathroom has a Shower. The main Bedroom faces the Sea and has a Queen bed with plenty Cupboard space. The second bedroom has two Single beds. There is a large, spacious Lounge/ Dining room facing the Sea with an upstairs balcony leading out from the Lounge. The good size Kitchen is well fitted out. The one Bathroom has a Bath and Shower, the other has a bath only and the third Bathroom has a shower only. Three bedrooms have a Sea View. This is a very spacious Apartment with a lovely open plan Kitchen to the Dining area and Lounge also with a Sea View. There are large sliding Doors leading out from the Dining area onto a patio and also out to the Garden. All Apartments have lovely white percale Linen. Towels are also supplied.
