Popular with surfers, wind surfers plus bathers. There are also a number of beautiful beaches safe for walks including the Kommetjie to Noordhoek walk with it's ship wreck, the Kakapo, still seen on the beach and which was in the well known movie "Ryan's Daughter" from the 70's.

Kommetjie is well known for it's quality of scented fresh air, and wonderful birdlife. Sacred Ibis, Egyptian Geese, Terns, Flamingoes, Cormorants to name a few. Ann and Michael 'Thank you for a wonderful stay at "A Seaside Place" It was a home from home. Your warm greeting and wine on arrival was wonderful. We will definitely recommend this place to family and friends. We also thank you for allowing our Pomeranian (Tylie) with welcome arms. Thank you for your friendliness and information about places around this area. Although this is a no smoking establishment, we could still smoke on the patio."
